Funding Categories
As part of SEISMIC involvement, the Constructs Working Group has some funds set aside to support the efforts of the Working Group through December 2023. The Constructs Funding Committee has determined the funding will be used to support the following:
A. Student Support
B. Publications, Conferences, and Outreach
C. Participant Incentives
D. Miscellaneous
More details on appropriate expenses for the funding categories are included at the end of this page.
How to Request Funds
Requests for funding must be submitted on behalf of a collaborative Constructs effort. This includes formal Constructs projects, but can also include collaborations between projects in SEISMIC or collaborations between individuals in Constructs. Funds may not be requested to support individual or non-SEISMIC work.
To request funds, Constructs members must fill out this form (to be provided). The form will then be sent to Nita Tarchinski, who will forward it to the committee via email. There is typically not a long period of time between submission of the form and review. The committee will meet as needed.
Examples of Appropriate Funding Requests by Category
A. Student Support
- Hourly pay
- Food/ accommodations associated with travel for SEISMIC Constructs work
- Conference registration fees to present SEISMIC Constructs work
- SEISMIC Scholars fees to support undergraduates
B. Publications, Conferences, and Outreach
- Journal publication fees
- Printing fees for posters, flyers, pamphlets, etc.
- Mailing costs for sending informational materials
- Room reservation fees to host a meeting to share Constructs ideas with the public
C. Participant Incentives
- Gift cards, raffle prizes, food, or other incentives for survey/interview/focus group participation
D. Miscellaneous
- Software
- Transcription services
- Recording equipment
