Overview


SEISMIC Central is led by Project Manager Nita Tarchinski and includes Program Assistant Diop Russell and 5 SEISMIC Ambassadors selected from the pool of ambassadors across participating institutions. SEISMIC Central works to make sure the collaboration is well organized, our events are effective, we engage in continuous improvement, we make progress toward our collective goals, and the overall collaboration runs smoothly. The current team will serve on SEISMIC Central September 2025 – August 2026. They will receive $1,200 for the year as compensation for their service. Responsibilities


SEISMIC Central’s responsibilities include:

  • Participating in monthly meetings and completing work asynchronously
  • Planning collaboration-wide conferences like the Spring 2026 Kick Off Event
  • Maintaining a list of people with relevant expertise who can be invited for our Speaker Series, Keynotes, and other conference presentations
  • Coordinating with partner institutions to plan the Speaker Series
  • Organizing the monthly SEISMIC Seminar
  • Reviewing and responding to grievance reports from the collaboration
  • Identifying opportunities to highlight SEISMIC work nationally


Project Manager Tarchinski and Program Assistant Russell will provide additional support to the collaboration by:

  • Supporting the collaborative grant-writing efforts of teams
  • Leading efforts to publish in broader higher education journals about SEISMIC
  • Maintaining relevant information on the SEISMIC website
  • Sending monthly newsletters to the collaboration
